moisture control
The primary way your body seeks to remain in the optimal temperature zone is through perspiration. point6 merino helps manage excess personal moisture by quickly transporting it away from your skin, allowing it to evaporate. Merino wool can move moisture away from your skin while still in the vapor state, transporting it to the outside of the garment, thus elimating moisture build up.
What looks like a simple strand of wool disguises a complex and technical moisture management system developed over thousands of years of exposure to the extreme environments of merino wool sheep. Merino wool fibers are both hydrophilic (water-loving) and hydrophobic (water-repelling). Through the hydrophilic core moisture is transported as vapor - before it has time to bead up on the skin - into the fibers and efficiently dispersed to the less-humid climate away from the skin's surface. The hydrophobic properties of merino fibers shed moisture in wet situations - rain, snow, puddles, rivers - keeping you comfortable and dry.
