Mica Lake, Zirkel Wilderness
Winter is still very much alive at Mica Lake (pictured above). Expect to hit snow immediately after the keyhole into the Mica Basin with a strong river/creek crossing. Ford the creek and you'll be rewarded with the basin view and wildflowers peeking through the snow. Bloom where you're planted!

Gold Creek Lake, Zirkel Wilderness
"This started as an attempt at the Zirkel Circlebut we were thwarted by the river crossing just above Gold Creek Lake. The lake was cold but clear and there was minimal snow on this 8-mile roundtripper. For anyone braving the full circle, the trail is covered in snow immediately after Gold Creek Lake."
